List of Prohibited Objects at The United States Embassy

The United States Embassy in the Dominican Republic has a list of objects that cannot be brought into the building. Likewise, the Visa Application Center uses the same list to prevent certain objects from being brought into the facility. Please note that we do not have storage where to keep them.

You will not be allowed to enter the Consular Section with the following items:

Cell phones, firearms, knives, scissors, other sharp objects, cameras, tape/video recorders, laptop computers, lighters/matches, pepper spray (mace), aerosol spray, radios, pliers, flammable liquids, sealed envelopes, electronic devices, and hand luggage.

If you have questions about whether to enter the consular facility with a particular item, visit our website Entry Regulation and forbidden items – U.S. Embassy in the Dominican Republic (usembassy.gov); or write to us at support-dominicanrepublic@ustraveldocs.com.
