‘Kelly Clarkson Show’ Set to Relocate to NYC

Kelly Clarkson is heading to the city so good they named it twice! The Grammy Award-winning pop music powerhouse is bringing her hit daytime talk show to New York City next fall.

A NBCUniversal spokesperson confirmed to the Daily News that “The Kelly Clarkson Show” will relocate from its current home on the Universal Studios Lot in California to NBC Studios in 30 Rockefeller Center.

The inaugural “American Idol” winner’s chatfest will film in Studio 6A with a live studio audience. Late night shows hosted by Jimmy Fallon, David Letterman and Conan O’Brien previously occupied the space.

According to Monday’s announcement, the shift is an “economic investment” to the city, giving the “Since You’ve Been Gone” singer’s fans “another reason for fans to visit the Big Apple.”

Calling out the New York’s Film Tax Credit — recently signed into law by Gov. Hochul in the fiscal year 2024 budget — NBCUniversal said the hour-long talk show benefits from the program’s change in eligibility requirements for productions to shoot for a minimum of two years, instead of five.

Currently in its fourth season, the 13-time Emmy Award-winning show launched in 2019 and has become a ratings draw in national syndication. Airing on 211 stations, it officially took over the time slot previously held by “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”

In November, NBCUniversal announced “The Kelly Clarkson Show” will air through at least 2025.

Executive produced by Clarkson and showrunner Alex Duda, the series kicked off its last two seasons with week-long stints out of New York City’s at Jazz at Lincoln Center.

“The Kelly Clarkson Show” led the pack of 2023 Daytime Emmy Award nominations last week. It was nominated for 11 Daytime Emmys, including Outstanding Daytime Talk Series Host and Outstanding Talk Series.

With the move to New York City, the production joins other nationally syndicated daytime shows such as “Sherri,” “Tamron Hall,” “Drew Barrymore” and “The View.”
